These following are projects we have been involved in recently, and give an indication of the scope of ability of embeddedengineering.

  • Video channel switching controller as a module for a security system
    Features to include:
    • Computer control of channel via ecp/epp parallel port
    • Extra digital inputs and outputs for monitoring PIR sensors and controlling sirens and lamps
    • Possible analysis of video image, to alert computer to a change in the monitored picture
  • Device for automating production using a mill or lathe by recording and recreating user examples
    • Interfacing to existing digital position measurement system
    • Recording movements required to manufacture the product
    • Motor control system for "playback" of movements to recreate the product
    • Possible enhances features like
      • Storing files for each product
      • Accurate cutting of curves and angles
      • CAD file input capability
  • Controller for 1km rotary boom watering system
    • Co-operative control of motorised sections
    • Accurate control of water flow for efficient watering
    • Safety measurement and cutout systems
    • Ruggedised system to cope with agricultural environment
    • Possible wireless reporting and control system
  • Linux based WAP mail server for mobile access
    • Automated mail fetching from external accounts
    • HTML and attachment trimming to reduce mobile data quantities
  • Light beam entry detection with hight discrimination (for distinguishing children and or animals)
  • Self contained, self powered distance measuring device (e.g. golf trundler measurements etc)
  • Generic PCB test systems, for use in PCB manufacturing
